Feature Opportunity New Publishing Platform 2024

Zya Community is seeking submissions for our new publishing platform on the theme of Rebirth. We are particularly interested in platforming people who identify as being from marginalised communities. This is a multimedia publication we accept content in written, visual/video or audio formats. Five pieces will be selected as features, which will be launched as part of Zya’s new digital identity. Submissions open Monday 18th of March and close at 5pm GMT Monday April 8th, 2024.  . Successful applicants will be notified by email by Monday 22nd of April. Features will be published in May 2024.

Selected applicants will receive editorial support from a member of the Zya Community Team we will also provide marketing and promotional support for your feature across our social media channels.  We may request a photograph of you to share across social media and will request a short bio. We will tag you across our social media channels and invite you to be a collaborator on Instagram for you to share across your social media.

Selected applicants will be paid a fixed fee of £75 for their contribution. This is inclusive of all work attributed to the submission, editing, publishing and promotion of the feature across social media. Payment will be made after the work has been signed off for publication.

If you are submitting work that is published elsewhere let us know where, we will prioritise submissions where the first publication is via Zya Community.

 How to Submit:

Send your submission as the specified file type attached to an email to info@zya.community by 5pm GMT Monday April 8th, 2024.  The subject line should follow the format: “Rebirth Feature Submission [Your Name]”.  Due to our limited capacity, we are unfortunately unable to provide feedback on unselected submissions. Submission Guidelines

General Submissions for Publishing Platform 2024

We want to publish your content centred on lived experiences, the arts, and social justice. We work with you to ensure your contribution is beneficial to you and your purpose. Submit via the form below.

Submissions are currently open for thought pieces with a specific theme or area of interest in the following formats:

  • Written article between 600 - 1500 words.

  • Visual and video with any written content of your choice

  • Audio content of your choice linked to at least one of our themes.

  • Written poetry and short fiction between 50-2000 words.

    ZYA is a not-for-profit and doesn’t have funds to pay for general submissions. We offer a platform to showcase you and your amazing work, we amplify and share in partnership with you.

  • Submitting images:

Make sure all of your images are:

  • JPG format and saved at quality 10 or above, or the maximum quality possible.

  • 300ppi and the largest size file you have (up to a maximum of 46cm on the longest side)

  • RGB (Adobe RGB is best but sRGB is okay too)

  • Has your full name at the start of EACH file name e.g. Lara-Khan-YOUR-UNIQUE-FILENAME.jpg
